The Veterinary Department at Africam Safari is a team of well-trained veterinarians that provides high quality care to our animal population. Beyond animal care it is our goal to promote research and conservation actions to fulfill the mission of Africam Safari.

Our animal care programs are designed to guarantee we provide the best medical practices to our animal population ensuring the security of the animals and the animal keepers.

Preventive Medicine Program This program consists of procedures that prevent diseases or medical conditions within our animal population. The program is composed of: Quarantine, Parasite Control, Immunization, Prophylaxis, and Necropsies. The goal is to maintain a healthy animal population.

Curative Medicine Program Any animal that needs medical attention, is treated promptly by the clinical veterinary staff. The department has excellent facilities and equipment to diagnose and treat any animal in our population.

Behavior Enrichment Program The staff applies animal behavior science and uses behavioral enrichment techniques to stimulate the animals. The stimulation prompts natural behaviors that are important for an animal´s overall health and well being.
