Preservation Projects
At present, Africam
Safari is collaborating and actively
participating in different projects
regarding the preservation of flora and
fauna in Mexico as in other countries. The
preservation efforts on the part of Africam
can be grouped into three major lines of
action:
1. Protection of soil for preservation
2. Recovery of wild populations
3. Monitoring of sentinel species for the
preservation of ecosystems
Projects in Progress
Protection of soil for preservation
-
Bacalar Station – It’s located in the
south-east of Mexico, in the Quintana
Roo state, where there is a nursery
garden containing endangered trees and
palms with the purpose of reforestation

with other governmental and non-governmental
institutions in projects regarding the
preservation in the region.
-
Valsequillo Puebla – An inventory of
flora and fauna is being compiled.
There’s a national collection of oak
trees (Quercus sp.). Work is being done
to rescue the Valsequillo reservoir and
environmental education activities are
carried out with local communities.
